Gracious Home and Our Team

Back in 1963, we opened our doors with a vast army of three employees. And that included our two founders. But life has been kind to us, and we’ve blossomed... Four bustling stores. A website. And most importantly, 450-plus amazing individuals who make it all happen. Of course, we all know that we never would have made it this far without the right people, and that’s why we’re always seeking the next star to add to the team. If you have a flare for outstanding customer service that matches ours, who knows – this just might be The One.

Of course, it isn’t easy getting in because no one wants to leave. People drift in one day looking for cutlery, and 23 years later they’re still here, managing a new store or spearheading a new marketing campaign. Surely, that tendency to stay has something to do with the “hard” perks...Invigorating salaries. Competitive benefits. But there’s more to it than that...

The truth is that Gracious Home draws a certain kind of person – the kind who won’t take just any old job. The ones who toss around words like “passion,” “ideas,” and “fulfilling”... outside of the job interview. It’s really a chicken-or-egg kind of thing: We’ve become a world-class store because we have exceptional people – and we attract exceptional people because we’re a world-class store. It hardly matters which came first – the bottom line is, great people thrive here.

Over the years, we’ve turned Gracious Home into a true New York institution. If this sounds like a train you’d like to board, please send us your application.

The Process

Be sure to send a resume along with a cover letter detailing your finest moments and burning ambitions.

Fax: 212-677-8097 or email careers@gracioushome.com

You can also stop by one of our stores to fill out an application in person.

It goes without saying that we offer equal employment opportunity to all job applicants, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or gender. We do, however, base our hiring decisions on tangibles such as your qualifications and past experience. Due to the river of applications we receive, we’re afraid that we can only contact applicants we would like to interview.

We look forward to meeting you!
