The House of KENZO was founded in Paris in 1970 by Takada Kenzo, where he opened his first boutique, Jungle Jap. Born in Japan, he moved to Paris in 1964 to start his fashion career and quickly became known for his ability to blend his distinctively Asian-and-Japanese-influenced style with the expert design and construction of high fashion, coveted by the young Parisians of the 1970s. He surprised the fashion world with his originality and the apparent celebration of diverse cultures, nature and colors in his designs. The classic, contemporary, or visionary collections are based on values of life, energy, and a deep-rooted equilibrium. KENZO has always worked towards a multicultural world, a world of colors and beauty, with nature as a vibrant, inexhaustible source of inspiration.
